Ready to part with outgrown braces? Please consider donating them to children in Mexico. All braces returned to us will be inspected for needed repair and shipped to Maneadero, Baja California, Mexico. This is about a 2-hour drive south of Tijuana. A wonderful physiotherapist, Susan Marie Fasino and her husband, Johnny, have built a therapy ranch in the hills in Manadero. The local children, many of them indigenous, receive free Physio services, including therapeutic horseback riding and wheelchair fitting and adapting.

Susan is a true angel who helps these children have a chance at reaching their potential.  We have rarely seen people work so passionately and tirelessly to provide a better life and opportunity for so many kids.

Birgit has twice now had the honour of joining Susan for a week to assess, fit and adapt orthotics donated to Ortho Design from fabulous families. Children whose needs cannot be met by donated braces will be cast, and new devices will be fabricated in Kelowna and sent to Mexico for Susan and Johnny to fit and adjust if needed. Throughout the year, we box up braces and send them to Susan, hoping that some will fit just right!
