Achilles Tendinitis

Achilles tendinitis is and inflammation of the Achilles tendon and is considered an “overuse” disorder caused by repetitive activity involving the Achilles tendon. It is very common in athletes and individuals with excessive pronation which produces additional stress to the tendon.  Symptoms include pain, stiffness, aching, tenderness and burning especially after periods of inactivity. Custom orthotics combined with other preventative measures often help alleviate the symptoms of Achilles tendinitis.
